Digital Ship’s Annual Maritime CIO Forum, taking place in Rotterdam next week, will investigate how we can harness the opportunities that digital reinvention and transformation is bringing. Through 3 clearly defined plenary sessions, an “Innovations & Ideas” accelerator Lunch, and informative question and answer panel sessions, we will focus on practical methods and will bring together representatives to discuss the future of digitisation in the industry.
Session 1: Cyber Security in an Unsecure Age
A look at maritime cyber security, safety and risk
This expert lead session will look at how the industry is reacting to the advent of increased cyber threats borne out of the growing use of cloud and IoT applications, number of devices used and larger ships but fewer crew. We will discuss cyber hack prevention, penetration and detection systems, mobilising internal commitment and collaboration in the industry.
Session 2: The Connectivity Evolution
Redefining Digitalisation in Maritime
Cloud, IoT, big data, remote monitoring…. Digitalisation is moving at a fast pace. Autonomous shipping is not far away. How can we harness all digital developments to make our own businesses smarter, safer and more sustainable? In this session we will investigate key drivers for a successful implementation. What are the most recent developments, how should we use them and what are the benefits and pitfalls? We will look at the best practices and learn from the best.
Session 3: The iShipping Revolution
Streamlining the supply chain
The rise of digitalisation and advanced technologies such as IoT, blockchain, autonomous shipping, and AI, promise a faster, safer and more scalable supply chain for all parties and better business outcomes and increased supply chain transparency? But these massive opportunities mean massive complexities too, so which are the right tools to use in this industrial revolution? This session will break down some of these enabling technologies and discuss how they can be used – and what are the benefits and pitfalls to watch out for.
