The Maritime CIO Forum, which took place at the 29th of September in Rotterdam, addressed the issues and trends that CIO’s face in an increasingly changing and continuously developing business environment. Chairman Peter Cortie was closing speaker and spoke about the importance of knowledge exchange in the maritime market.
The Platform Broadband@Sea brings 13 ship-owners and 11 maritime suppliers together in an informal setting to discuss topics such as the development of VSAT technology, the usability of broadband connectivity in cost efficient communications, real-time monitoring, crew welfare vs operational excellence and big data / internet of things. The next (ship-owners only) meeting of the Platform Broadband@Sea will be held during Europort, followed by a networking reception of the entire platform at one of the Holland Pavilions, hosted by Netherlands Maritime Technology.
